Colorado State Defeats Northern Colorado, 33-14

The Colorado St. Rams are 2-0 on the year, as expected, but the loss may have come at a bigger price if star linebacker Mychal Sisson is severely injured. Sisson left the game on a cart after he was trying to block a Northern Colorado player on a punt return, but he was knocked down and fell awkwardly on this right leg. As of now Sisson is getting x-rays at the hospital to see how bad the injury is and some are speculating that he may have a broken ankle.

As for the rest of the Rams they raced out to a 28-0 lead and never looked back. The running game improved from last week and was led by Raymond Carter who scored two touchdowns and had 100 yards on the game. Carter was not the only back that had a good game, Derek Good had 81 yards and Chris Nwoke rushed for 53 yards.

Quarterback Pete Thomas cooled off considerably after a solid first half and ended up throwing an alarming amount of passes with 42, and he ended up completing 28. Thomas threw for 259 yards on the day, but he also had three interceptions to go along with his one touchdown pass.

Overall the Ram offense out gained the Beas 501 yards to 216 yards and allowed the Bears to only nine first downs compared to the Rams 28. The Ram defense did their job today by forcing two interceptions. Also, the defense held the Bears to go only 4-of-12 on third down attempts.

Overall, the Colorado State thoroughly dominated Northern Colorado. Next week the Rams play Colorado in the Rocky Mountain Showdown at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
