Texas-Nebraska Final Score: Cornhuskers Defeat No. 2 Longhorns, 70-67

For the second time in three years, the Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Texas Longhorns, the No. 2 team in the nation, 70-67. This is the fourth loss for Texas, but it's first in Big 12 play. With the victory the Cornhuskers are 18-8 (6-6 Big 12) and in play as a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament in March,

The Cornhuskers trailed at halftime, 33-26, but led by as many as 11 points during the second half. The Longhorns battled back to make it a one-point game, 68-67. However, two free throws by the Huskers and a missed three-pointer by J`Covan Brown gave Nebraska the win.

Brandon Richardson led Nebraska with 15 points on 3-of-7 shooting while making 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Toney McCray and Brian Jorge Diaz added 14 points and 11 points, respectively.

For Texas, Brown had 18 points off the bench, tied for the team lead with Jordan Hamilton. Hamilton struggled from the field with 3-of-16 shooting, but made nine free throws. He pulled down six boards, dished the ball out three times and made two steals.

With both No. 1 Kansas and No. 2 Texas going 1-1 thus week, will we see Ohio St. move back to the top spot? Maybe if they beat Purdue on Sunday.

The Longhorns face the Colorado Buffaloes next Saturday.
