Wyoming Vs. Colorado St. Score Update: Cowboys Jump Out To 7-3 Lead

Stay connected for news and updates

While it's tough to call this game an audition for next season, embattled Colorado St. head coach Steve Fairchild is certainly hoping to prove what this group could be capable of, especially after the hiring of a new Director of Athletics. In the first quarter against bowl bound Wyoming, the Rams have played competitive football, as they trail 7-3.

The Colorado St. offense has struggled to generate much offense against a stout Wyoming defense. On the lone scoring drive of the opening quarter, the Rams benefited from a huge kickoff return to get the ball deep in Cowboys territory. Although they were able to near the goal line, the Rams settled for a short field goal from Chad VanderMolen.

Defensively, CSU has done an excellent job of limiting big plays from Wyoming. The Cowboys only gained 95 yards in the opening quarter. The Rams also have provided a consistent pass rush on QB Brett Smith, allowing him to only throw for 10 yards in the opening quarter.
