Colorado St. Vs. Wyoming Score Update: Rams Fall To Wyoming In Season-Finale

While the Colorado St. Rams would have loved to have finished off their season with a victory over the Wyoming Cowboys, the Rams acquitted themselves well in a tough 22-19 defeat. With the loss, the Rams ended the season on an eight-game losing streak.

The Rams certainly had opportunities to win this game, but a couple of ill-timed turnovers really hurt their cause. Despite playing a solid game, in which he threw for 143 yards and rushed for 91 yards, QB Garrett Grayson will be frustrated with the interception he threw in the end zone at the end of the first half, which ultimately proved to be a huge missed opportunity to score points. In the loss, Raymond Carter did an excellent job replacing the injured Chris Nwoke, rushing for 158 yards and 2 TD's.

Defensively, Colorado St. did an excellent job forcing Wyoming into turnovers. The Cowboys committed three turnovers over the course of the game, but did an impressive job moving the ball on the game-winning drive. QB Brett Smith connected with Josh Doctson from 35 yards out to give Wyoming the 20-19 lead. The Cowboys tacked on a safety to earn the 22-19 victory.

Wyoming will sit back and wait to learn where it will play its bowl game. For Colorado St., it will be interesting to see what happens with head coach Steve Fairchild.

Colorado St. Vs. Wyoming Score Update: Garrett Grayson Sparks Rams Comeback

Despite the absence of star RB Chris Nwoke, the Colorado St. Rams have played some impressive football in their season-finale, as they lead the Wyoming Cowboys,19-14, heading into the final quarter.

After struggling to move the ball in the opening half, the Rams offense was clicking on all cylinders in the third quarter. Senior RB Raymond Carter dominated the line of scrimmage, scoring the TD to put the Rams ahead. Carter has now rushed for 149 yards on 25 carries. Garrett Grayson has shown all of his abilities from the QB position, completing 11/18 for 119 yards and also rushing for 91 yards.

While the offense has generated some rhythm, the real story of the game has been the play of the Colorado St. defense. The Rams have forced two key turnovers and limited the Wyoming offense from getting anything going in the third quarter. In fact, the Cowboy offense only ran nine plays in the entire quarter.

Colorado St. Vs. Wyoming Score Update: Rams Trail 14-6

In the season-finale for Colorado St., the Rams have done an excellent job hanging around in the opening half, as they trail Wyoming, 14-6.

With star RB Chris Nwoke suffering an ankle injury, the Rams have struggled to move the football throughout the game. Senior RB Raymond Carter has rushed for 33 yards, while Garrett Grayson has added 79 yards on the ground. Grayson has also been effective through the air, completing 8/14 for 93 yards. However, Grayson through a costly interception in the end zone at the end of the half that prevented the Rams from narrowing the deficit.

Despite allowing nearly 300 yards of total offense in the first half, the Colorado St. defense has done an excellent job keeping the score close. With Wyoming driving down the field to potentially extend the lead late in the first half, the Rams forced a fumble from QB Brett Smith, which the defense recovered to prevent any points being added to the scoreboard. Smith has been excellent aside from the fumble, throwing for 130 yards and a TD in the opening half.

Wyoming Vs. Colorado St. Score Update: Cowboys Jump Out To 7-3 Lead

While it's tough to call this game an audition for next season, embattled Colorado St. head coach Steve Fairchild is certainly hoping to prove what this group could be capable of, especially after the hiring of a new Director of Athletics. In the first quarter against bowl bound Wyoming, the Rams have played competitive football, as they trail 7-3.

The Colorado St. offense has struggled to generate much offense against a stout Wyoming defense. On the lone scoring drive of the opening quarter, the Rams benefited from a huge kickoff return to get the ball deep in Cowboys territory. Although they were able to near the goal line, the Rams settled for a short field goal from Chad VanderMolen.

Defensively, CSU has done an excellent job of limiting big plays from Wyoming. The Cowboys only gained 95 yards in the opening quarter. The Rams also have provided a consistent pass rush on QB Brett Smith, allowing him to only throw for 10 yards in the opening quarter.

Wyoming Vs. Colorado State: Game Time, TV Schedule, Spread And More

The Colorado State Rams are facing the Wyoming Cowboys this weekend as they try to salvage the end of their season and break a seven-game losing streak, but they're facing a tall task against a pretty good team. Wyoming is 7-4 so far this season and has lost to notable opponents like Nebraska, Boise State and TCU, not struggling teams like the Rams.

Wyoming is a 5.5-point favorite for the game despite being on the road, although the Rams are just 1-5 at home this season. Colorado State hasn't won a game in front of the home crowd since beating Northern Colorado 33-14 on Sept. 10.
