Boise State Vs. Colorado State Final Score: Kellen Moore, Broncos Trample Rams, 63-13

The Colorado St. Rams won't have many fond memories of their first game against the Boise St. Broncos. The Rams suffered a massive defeat, 63-13. The Broncos led by as many as 35 points in the second quarter before the Rams were able to muster two touchdowns. However, things didn't get any kinder in the second half, as Boise State scored 28 unanswered points in the third quarter.

Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore picked up his 44th career victory and is one win away from tying Colt McCoy's NCAA record of 45. He will go for it next week against the Air Force Falcons. Moore was 26-of-30 for 338 yards and four touchdown passes.

Running back Doug Martin put up 200 yards on 20 carries against the Rams. He found the end zone three times. Fellow running back D.J. Harper entered the end zone twice.

Both Colorado State touchdowns came from non-quarterbacks. Tight end Crockett Gillmore and wide receiver Charles Lovett found the end zone on their throws. Quarterback Pete Thomas struggled to reach 100 passing yards, going 10-of-24.

The Rams (3-3) are on the road next week against the UTEP Miners.

Colorado State Vs. Boise State: Broncos Rolling, Lead 42-13

The Boise St. Broncos are too much for the Colorado St. Rams and do not have the horses to keep pace with Boise State as they ran out to 35 straight points. Colorado State did start a comeback of their own by scoring the final 13 points of the half by using some trick plays to get on the board. The Rams threw two touchdown passes with one by wide receiver Chrales Lovett who threw a 20 yard pass to Matt Yemm and the other was thrown by tight end Crockett Gillmore on a 27 yard pass to Joe Brown.

The normal offensive plays for Colorado State has not been there in this game. The rushing game netted only 15 and Pete Thomas has only threw for 85 yards. Now compare that to Boise State who has thrown for 272 yards by Kellen Moore and running back Doug Martin now has 200 yards and scored his third touchdown to start the third quarter.

Colorado State Vs. Boise State: Broncos Score 21 First Quarter Points

The Boise St. Broncos are playing their first ever Mountain West Conference game and are doing just fine against the Colorado St. Rams. Boise State scored three touchdowns in the first quarter, two by running back Doug Martin and one touchdown pass by Kellen Moore to Tyler Shoemaker.

Doug Martin has been the spark for Boise State so far, because besides the two touchdowns he has 135 yards in the first quarter with a long run of 65 yards.

The defense for Boise State has completely shutdown the Rams offense which has only four passing yards and three rushing yards. Plus, Boise State has sacked Ram quarterback Pete Thomas twice and both were by Tyrone Crawford.

This is looking like it will be a long day for Colorado State.

Boise State Vs. Colorado State TV Schedule, Spread, Game Time And More

The Boise St. Broncos start their Mountain West play with a trip to Fort Collins against the Colorado St. Rams. This could be the first and possibly the last trip the Broncos make here if they bolt with Air Force for the Big East. But it's the middle of November and our main concern should be on the gridiron.

The Rams enter this game with a good standing in the league. They are No. 2 in the conference with a 3-2 record and a 1-0 conference record (their opening season win against New Mexico). However, they have a loss on the books to the Colorado Buffaloes and lost a tough game against the San Jose St. Spartans two weeks ago. If the Rams want to stay in this, they'll need sophomore quarterback Pete Thomas to control the offense.

But, in the end, it's likely that Kellen Moore and the Broncos will be too much for the Rams to handle. Moore is well on his way to overtaking Colt McCoy as the all-time wins leader in NCAA history and this game will be a small part of that. Moore has 17 touchdowns in five games and leads a team that averages 40.6 points. The defense allows just 14.8.

Game date, time: 4:00 p.m. MT, Saturday, Oct. 15

Location: Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, Fort Collins, Colo.

TV channel: The Mtn.

Spread: Boise State favored by 33

Series history: This will be the first game in the series.

Boise State Vs. Colorado State Injury Report

The Colorado St. Rams will be hosting the Boise St. Broncos in their first ever Mountain West game, and the Rams are already down multiple starters. Those players are either out for the year or are out for this week's game due to early season injuries. The Rams are still without linebacker Mychal Sisson, who fractured his ankle, and offensive lineman Joe Caprioglio is out for the year with a knee injury.

Overall the Rams will be without six total starters for the foreseeable feature. As for the most recent injuries the Rams most likely will be without defensive lineman Nuku Latu and offensive lineman Brandon Hayes with knee injuries.

Boise State looks to be without four starters in this game. Guard Jake Broyles and cornerback Jerrell Gavins are both out for the year. Starting center Thomas Byrd is doubtful with a knee injury, and fullback Dan Paul is also likely unlikely to go as a result of a groin injury.

Here is some more detailed information about the Boise State and Colorado State injuries:

Boise State Vs. Colorado: Kellen Moore In Good Position To Pick Up 44th Career Victory

Barring a complete collapse by the Boise St. Broncos over the remaining seven games (eight with a bowl game), quarterback Kellen Moore will establish a new NCAA career wins record at his position. He currently stands at 43 and is just two away from tying the current record holder, former Texas Longhorn Colt McCoy. McCoy went 45-8 in his career while Moore is 43-2 so far.

If all goes as planned for the Broncos, Moore should have no issues with picking up wins 44 and 45 over the next two weeks. Colorado State doesn't offer a great challenge, but the Air Force Falcons could frustrate them in two weeks. It will be the first game between the two teams and it will be at Falcon Stadium. Still, we can chalk that victory for Moore on the board at the moment. More than likely, he will then hold the record himself with a victory over UNLV on Nov. 5.

For college football trivia, remember that two Colorado schools eventually gave way to Kellen Moore's new NCAA wins record.
