Fort Collins, CO (Sports Network) — Leonard Mason ran for 124 yards and three touchdowns, as the Colorado State Rams rolled past the New Mexico Lobos, 38-14, in Mountain West Conference play at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins.

Chris Nwoke added 98 rushing yards for CSU (3-6, 2-3 MWC), which amassed 328 yards on the ground as a team. QB Pete Thomas was also effective, completing 17-of-25 pass attempts for 256 yards and a score.

The Lobos scored just minutes into the game with one-yard touchdown plunge by James Wright.

The Rams responded by scoring the next 21 points of the opening quarter. Thomas started things off with a 43-yard touchdown pass to Lou Greenwood before Mason scurried three yards to paydirt. Tony Drake capped the scoring spurt with a 34-yard touchdown run.

UNM answered midway through the squad quarter, when Godfrey tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Kirk.

CSU, though, would take a 31-14 lead into the break after Mason ran 38 yards for a touchdown and Ben Deline booted a 27-yard field goal on the last play of the half.

The lone score of the second half came from Mason, who rumbled two yards to the end zone late in the third quarter.

The Rams racked up 584 yards of total offense, while limiting the Lobos to just 237 yards.
