San Diego State had its way with Colorado State in Saturday's matchup between the Mountain West opponents. The Aztecs were 23-point favorites going into this game, and they showed exactly why, punishing the Rams in both the running and passing game on the way to a 38-14 victory.
The game was tied through just one quarter of action, but Colorado State was soon left in San Diego State's dust after a 10-point second quarter for the Aztecs, sparking a run of 31 unanswered points. Running back Adam Muema scored the first and last touchdowns for the Aztecs, while quarterback Ryan Katz threw or ran for the other three touchdowns. Chance Marden converted on a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter for SDSU's other score.
CSU finally scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late at that point. This marks the sixth consecutive loss for the Rams, who opened the season with a win against Colorado.
Box Score Hero: Muema ran the ball 14 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns to lead San Diego State.
Rankings Ramifications: Neither of these teams were ranked before this game, and won't be afterward.
But Did They Cover? This spread couldn't have been much more accurate. The Aztecs won by 24.

Next Week's Schedule: Colorado State is off next week, but returns to action against Hawaii on Oct. 27. San Diego State plays Nevada next week.
