Losers of four straight games by a total of 68 points, the Colorado State Rams will attempt to break out of their recent offensive slump at home on Saturday afternoon against a tough Fresno State team.
The Rams were torched by Air Force in a 21-point beating to open their Mountain West Conference slate last week, and now have just one win in five attempts over what can only be described as a dismal season. Colorado State's main problem against the Falcons was stopping the run, as Air Force racked up a whopping 459 yards rushing on just 67 attempts to control virtually the entire game.
Set to take on a Bulldogs squad that enters hot after rolling up 52 points on San Diego State, the Rams will be unable to put forth another middling defense performance if they plan to come away with a victory. Though the Rams did manage to earn an impressive 50-45 win the last time these schools met at the 2008 New Mexico Bowl, it's becoming clear that Colorado State's defense is not quite the same caliber it once was.
