Eric Young Jr. Injury Update: Rockies OF Hopes To Join Team At Home

Stay connected for news and updates

Colorado Rockies center fielder Eric Young, Jr. wants to rejoin the team during its next homestand, which begins Monday, Sept. 10, against the San Francisco Giants, according to a report by Troy Renck of The Denver Post.

Young has been on the disabled list since Aug. 21, after straining his left ribcage muscle. He was one of the Rockies' best players in the month of August, riding a hot streak and raising his batting average from .263 to .316, according to Renck.

The center fielder left a game on Sunday, Aug. 19, against the Miami Marlins following the first inning after straining a left intercostal muscle.

Along with the .316 average, Young had scored 36 runs, clubbed 13 extra-base hits including four home runs, stole 14 bases and drove in 15 runs in 98 games played this season.
