Rockies Vs. Braves Final Score: Kris Medlen Dominates Colorado In 6-1 Victory

The Colorado Rockies saw a two-game winning streak fall apart on Monday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves. The Rockies had no solution to figure out Braves starter Kris Medlen, who threw a complete game five-hitter. He struck out 12 Rockies and allowed that one run, which was unearned. Medlen has now won five straight games and six of his seven starts.

The Rockies scored their lone run of the game in the seventh inning when Jordan Pacheco hit an infield single and saw shortstop Paul Janish commit a throwing error to allow Carlos Gonzalez to score.

Atlanta scored two runs in the first inning, one on a Tyler Chatwood wild pitch and another on a play that saw Jordan Pacheco commit two errors, putting Freddie Freeman across home plate. Chatwood (4-4, 5.53 ERA) went on to allow four runs in the third inning (his last inning), one each on a sacrifice fly and a single and the other two on a David Ross double. Chatwood had issues with the strike zone and walk five.

Josh Roenicke, Edgmer Escalona, Guillermo Moscoso and Will Harris kept the Braves off the board after that, but the Rockies' offense had nothing going against Medlen.

The Rockies (55-78, 25-37 away) play on Tuesday night at 5:10 p.m. MT. Drew Pomeranz and Tommy Hanson are the scheduled pitchers.
