Rockies vs. Cubs: Game halted by rain in 7th inning

Despite being red-hot from the plate as a team on Tuesday night, the Colorado Rockies were forced to take shelter in the dugout due to a rain delay in their game with the Chicago Cubs.

The Rockies responded accordingly after serving up three Chicago runs in the top of the first, and managed to plate a whopping 10 runs on 15 hits before even having a chance to bat in the bottom of the seventh. While all eight starting position players have already recorded a base hit in the game, no player has been more integral to Tuesday's offensive explosion than second baseman DJ LeMahieu.

The 24-year-old LeMahieu entered the day with just one career home run in 262 career at-bats, but is currently exactly one homer short of hitting for the cycle against the Cubs due to a monster 3-3 night. A significant piece of the Tyler Colvin trade with the Cubs back in December of last year, LeMahieu's RBI double in the fourth helped the Rockies chase Chicago starter Chris Rusin from the mound prematurely.
