Diamondbacks Vs. Rockies: Colorado Tries To Break 7 Game Skid

The Colorado Rockies take a seven-game losing streak into play Saturday, and Jhoulys Chacin will go to the mound Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks to try to break the streak.

The Rockies' disastrous season reached one of its lowest points Friday in a 15-5 loss to open the series against the Diamondbacks at Coors Field. Arizona scored at least one run in every inning except for the second, and each starting position player for the Diamondbacks had at least one hit. The loss sent the Rockies' record to 58-92, a record that put Colorado behind the Chicago Cubs for the second-worst record in baseball.

The Rockies have lost seven games in a row, nine of their last 10, and 13 of their last 16.

Chacin went five innings in his last outing Monday against the San Francisco Giants, giving up one run on five hits. The righty has an ERA of 4.58 through 11 starts of an injury-shortened season. He missed three months with a pectoral injury.

Patrick Corbin will start Saturday for the Diamondbacks. The rookie is coming off perhaps his best start in the majors so far: an eight-inning outing against the Giants on Sunday in which he gave up two runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

First pitch at Coors Field is Saturday at 6:10 p.m. MT. The game will be televised on Root Sports.
