Rockies Vs. Giants Final Score: Colorado Drops Game 2 To San Francisco, 6-3

The Colorado Rockies were unable to pull out a win for the fourth consecutive game on Tuesday night at San Francisco's AT&T Park, as the Giants used a dominant pitching performance from Tim Lincecum to snatch a 6-3 victory.

Colorado batters could only muster five hits through 6⅓ innings of shutout ball from Lincecum, but eventually rallied to make things respectable against a usually stout Giants bullpen. Although he has struggled mightily in 2012, Lincecum moved to 10-14 on the year and lowered his earned-run average to 4.91 with the performance, in addition to fanning at least six batters for the fourth straight outing.

Both Jordan Pacheco and Chris Nelson each put forth two-hit efforts to carry the Rockies' offense in the early going, while catcher Wilin Rosario stepped to the plate in the eighth and smacked a two-run shot to mark his 25th home run of the season. Nelson, who continues to swing one of the hottest bats in the majors at the moment, is now hitting .361 in the month of August with three home runs and 12 RBI.

Still with a chance to salvage a split in the four-game series, the Rockies plan to send 22-year-old prospect Tyler Chatwood to the hill on Wednesday to face San Francisco's Matt Cain in Game 3.
