Rockies Vs. Giants: Jeff Francis Looks For Success On The Road

Stay connected for news and updates

The Colorado Rockies look to bounce back from a series-opening loss when they face the San Francisco Giants in AT&T Park on Tuesday night. The Rockies received five solid innings from starter Jhoulys Chacin and good bullpen work, but couldn't get the bats going in a 2-1 loss on Monday.

Jeff Francis take the mound for the Rockies with a 5-5 record and a 5.68 ERA. The veteran left-hander has fared far better in his starts on the road, with a 4.11 ERA away from the thin air of Coors Field. Francis faced the Giants in his last start, giving up five runs in just three innings while taking a loss at home.

The Giants send Tim Lincecum to the hill on Tuesday. The two-time Cy Young winner has not been the same pitcher as years past , going 9-14 with a 5.09 ERA in 2012. Lincecum's season has taken a turn for the better lately, as he has gone more than six innings and given up three runs or less in each of his three September starts.

First pitch is set for 8:15 MT. The game will be televised on ROOT Sports and MLB Network.
