Rockies Vs. Giants: Colorado Falls 2-1 To San Francisco

Stay connected for news and updates

Jhoulys Chacin put together a solid pitching performance on Monday night, but the Colorado Rockies offense couldn't put up enough to get him the win as they fell 2-1 to the San Francisco Giants.

Chacin went a full five innings and struck out two while allowing only a single run on five hits, but Madison Bumgarner did even better. The Giants' young lefty struck out six Rockies and only allowed four hits, the only run off of him coming from an RBI triple to center field by Josh Rutledge.

Guillermo Moscoso came in to relieve Chacin in the sixth and allowed a second run for San Francisco, which would end the scoring for the evening. After Bumgarner left the game, the Rockies never got another hit.

Colorado will take on the Giants in game two of the series on Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. MT. Jeff Francis is slated to take on Tim Lincecum on Tuesday night.
