Dodgers Vs. Rockies Final Score: Sweep Eludes Colorado As They Fall To Los Angeles, 10-8.

The Colorado Rockies missed out on a chance to sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers, as they dropped Wednesday's series finale, 10-8.

It was all Dodgers for seven and a half innings, when the Rockies began to see some of their grounders sneak through and soft liners drop into open space, as the Dodgers did during a six-run third inning against Colorado starter Drew Pomeranz. The Dodgers scored the first four runs of that frame on and error and a few singles, then Hanley Ramirez unleashed a blast to dead-center to extend the lead to six.

The game stayed that way until the seventh inning, when Tyler Colvin's RBI single got the Rockies on the board. Then, in the top of the eighth, A.J. Ellis got that run back for the Dodgers, as well as three more, with a grand slam. The Rockies followed with a huge inning, getting seven runs on mostly singles, walks, and a hit-by-pitch.

After Matt Belisle held the Dodgers scoreless in the top of the ninth, Chris Nelson got aboard via a base hit with one out in the bottom half. However, the Rockies' attempt at an improbable comeback ended one batter later, as DJ LeMahieu grounded into a game-ending double play.

Adam Ottavino was spectacular out of the bullpen for Colorado, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and a walk and striking out three. Nelson led the offense with three hits, while LeMahieu, Josh Rutledge, and Carlos Gonzalez had two apiece.

Pomeranz lasted four innings, giving up five earned runs on six hits. He struck out four and didn't walk anybody. He took the loss, while Joe Blanton, who scattered 10 hits in 7.1 innings, earned the victory.
