The Colorado Rockies announced on Friday that right-handed starter Juan Nicasio is scheduled to have surgery on his left knee later this month. Nicasio, who has been on the DL for over a month, was recently scratched from a rehab start because of the knee issue.

Nicasio is 2-3 in 11 starts for the Rockies in 2012; in 58 innings of work, he has struck out 54 and walked 22. The timetable for his potential return from surgery is unknown at this point.
