Rockies Vs. Cardinals: Christian Friedrich, Lance Lynn Duel In Finale

Stay connected for news and updates

The Colorado Rockies are halfway to 100 losses during the 2012 season after dropping Game 3 against the St. Louis Cardinals on Independence Day, a 4-1 loss. That series comes to an end on Thursday evening, but the Rockies will need to face one of the league's top pitchers this season: Lance Lynn.

Lynn (10-4, 3.62 ERA), however, has had a rough go of things in his last three starts. He's 0-2 in those starts, has failed to pitch more than 5.1 innings and has allowed 17 runs in 15.1 innings. This will be his first career start against the Rockies.

The Rockies turn to Christian Friedrich (4-5, 5.52) for the finale. Friedrich ended a four-game losing streak in his last outing when he picked up a no-decision. The Rockies still lost that game to the San Diego Padres, 8-4, but Friedrich allowed just one run (a home run) in five innings and struck out five. This will be his first game against the Cardinals.

Game time/date: 6:15 p.m. MT, Thursday, July 5, 2012

Location: Busch Stadium, St. Louis, MO

TV/Radio: ROOT Sports/850 KOA
