Losers of three straight, the Rockies host the St. Louis Cardinals after an off day on Monday.

The Colorado Rockies had Monday off, a time to recharge and regroup from a weekend sweep by the Cincinnati Reds. They are back at it on Tuesday with a three-game series at Coors Field against the St. Louis Cardinals. Through the first 100 games if the season, the Rockies are 37-63. With just 62 games remaining, the Rockies could use a new start right about now.

Jeff Francis (3-2, 4.97 ERA) was on the mound for the Rockies' last victory, a 4-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. He allowed both runs on solo home runs and lasted into the seventh inning, certainly a rare sight for the Rockies these days. Francis defeated the Cardinals back on July 3 in a tight 3-2 decision in St. Louis.

Kyle Lohse (10-2, 2.71 ERA) is looking to improve to 4-0 in six July starts. He has pitched at least six innings in each of his five July starts so far and hasn't allowed more than two runs in any one of them. On July 2, Lohse allowed two runs and struck out five in 7.1 innings. He went 7.1 innings

This game can be seen on ROOT Sports and heard on 850 KOA at 6:40 p.m. MT.
