Rockies Vs. Diamondbacks: Edwar Cabrera Expected To Pitch On Tuesday

Stay connected for news and updates

The Colorado Rockies dropped Game 1 to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, 6-3, essentially lost once the recently-acquired Jonathan Sanchez allowed a three-run triple to pitcher Ian Kennedy in the fourth inning. The Rockies turn to another left-hander on Tuesday, if as expected Edwar Cabrera rejoins the team.

Cabrera (0-1, 19.29 ERA) was called up back on June 27 for his first major league start. It did not go well. He allowed seven runs in 2.1 innings, serving up four gopher balls.

Joe Saunders (4-6, 3.58 ERA) allowed four runs in a 4-0 loss to the Rockies back on June 4, but he has been a model pitcher for going six innings in his starts. He has gone six innings in his last four starts since that loss, though he has gone just 1-2, the team 1-3 overall. He received just one run of offensive support in his two losses.

Game time & date: 7:40 p.m. MT, Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Location: Chase Field, Phoenix, Ariz.
