The Colorado Rockies announced Monday that outfielder Chris Nelson has checked into a hospital and is undergoing tests for an irregular heartbeat. No additional details have been released by the team at this point.

Nelson has appeared in 58 games for the Rockies in 2012 and is hitting .256/.324/.411 with nine doubles, five home runs and 23 RBI. This is his third major league season with Colorado.
UPDATE: Nelson will remain hospitalized overnight.
