The Colorado Rockies (34-53) staged a pair of comeback bids against the Philadelphia Phillies (38-51), but ultimately could not match the Phillies, losing 8-5 on Saturday.
SP Jeremy Guthrie (L, 3-9) pitched the first 4 and 2/3 innings, but allowed 4 ER on 2 walks, 3 strikeouts, 7 hits and 1 home run. The primary damage came in the first inning when 2B Chase Utley singled home CF Shane Victorino, and then C Carlos Ruiz launched a three-run homer to give the Phillies a 4-0 lead.
CF Dexter Fowler (2 for 5), 2B Marco Scutaro (2 for 5 with a double) and C Wilin Rosario (2 for 4 with a home run) helped key the Rockies offense, but despite their 2-run rally in the 3rd inning and 3-run rally in the 8th inning, they could not overcome SP Vance Worley (W, 5-5 -- also 2 for 3 with a double batting).
