The Colorado Rockies have ended Jorge De La Rosa's minor league rehab assignment for the time being after fluid built up in the elbow that the pitcher had surgery on last year, as Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. De La Rosa is still working to return from Tommy John surgery after tearing the UCL in his throwing elbow last May.

On Friday, De La Rosa had to leave his first rehab start with Triple-A Colorado Springs after feeling forearm tightness. After signing a three-year contract with the Rockies before last season, De La Rosa lasted just ten starts before blowing out his elbow. Now it appears that he may miss the vast majority of the 2012 season, too, barring further developments.
