Colorado Rockies News: Bob Apodaca Named Special Assistant To GM Dan O'Dowd

Colorado Rockies pitching coach Bob Apodaca asked for a reassignment, and the Rockies obliged. Apodaca is now a special assistant to general manager Dan O'Dowd.

Apodaca asked to be reassigned within the Colorado Rockies organization and was moved into the role of special assistant to general manager Dan O’Dowd. Initially, the assignment will be to step away from the game, clear his mind and get recharged.

Apodaca told the Rockies that he was tired and needed a break from coaching the pitching staff. The Rockies have had all kinds of trouble with the pitching staff, which ranks last in MLB with an ERA well over five.
