National Vs. Rockies: Colorado Looks To Split Series On Thursday

The Colorado Rockies have had a miserable two days leading up to Thursday's finale against the Washington Nationals. But Colorado can still salvage a split in this series because they were able to beat Stephen Strasburg on Monday.

The Rockies will face Edwin Jackson (4-4, 2.91 ERA) on Thursday afternoon. Jackson has gone 3-1 with a 2.30 ERA in four June starts. That one loss came in a 4-1 decision against the New York Yankees on June 17. He bounced back on June 23 with 6.1 innings of one-run ball against the Baltimore Orioles. In three career starts at Coors Field -- just 12 innings -- Jackson has allowed 21 runs for a 15.75 ERA.

Josh Outman (0-3, 8.64 ERA) is still winless, but the Rockies did win their last game in which he started. Outman allowed five runs in 4.2 innings to the Texas Rangers, but the Rockies wound up with an 11-7 victory, the only win during that series. Still, after allowing zero runs in his first back on June 1, Outman has started four more games and allowed five runs three times and four runs once. The Rockies lost the first three of those starts.

This game will be played at 1:10 p.m MT and can be heard on 850 KOA. ROOT Sports will not televise the game, but it can be seen on MLB.tv if not in a blackout area.
