The Colorado Rockies will continue with the nontraditional four-man rotation in an effort to protect some of the team's young arms. Starting rotations in the MLB have typically featured five members since the New York Mets made the transition during a 100-win season in 1969, but Colorado manager Jim Tracey is set to buck the trend. The new Rockies rotation will feature only Jeff Francis, Alex White, Christian Friedrich and Josh Outman.
Leave it the 31-year old Francis to deliver the best quote:
"If you don't like it, pitch better," Jeff Francis, the Rockies' only current veteran starter, said this week.
The Rockies are set to begin a three-game series against in Texas against the Rangers on Friday, with Friedrich opposing Texas starter Roy Oswalt in his Rangers debut.
