Third baseman Nolan Arenado and pitcher Edwar Cabrera will represent the Colorado Rockies at the 2012 Futures Game.

A pair of Colorado Rockies prospects are headed to the 14th annual Futures Game, to be held on Sunday, July 8 during the MLB's All-Star weekend. Third baseman Nolan Arenado is no stranger to the honor, as this will be the second consecutive year the highly-touted Rockies prospect is headed to the game. Arenado will be joined by Edwar Cabrera, a 24-year old lefty hailing from a Dominican Republic who is currently a member of Colorado's 40-man roster.

The spotlight continues to shine on Arenado, a young man who many Rockies fans hope is the second coming of Vinny Castilla. The 21-year old was named the MVP of the Arizona Fall League in 2011, finishing with an impressive .388 batting average to go along with six homers and 33 RBI. He was the Rockies' second round draft pick in 2009 out of El Toro High School in California. Arenado is currently hitting .292 with seven homers and 36 RBI for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers. He has a .780 OPS.

Cabrera has also been solid this season for the Drillers. The lefty is 7-4 with a 2.97 ERA in 91 innings.
