Juan Nicasio Injury: Rockies Pitcher Leaves Game With Left Leg Injury

Stay connected for news and updates

The Colorado Rockies saw starting pitcher Juan Nicasio leave in the second inning with two outs recorded. On Elian Herrera's two-run single to center field, Nicasio wound up twisting his ankle knee, it turned out. Jim Tracy and the trainers came out to visit him and removed the pitcher from the game. Nicasio was clearly limping to the dugout and then labored to walk down the stairs to the locker room.

Nicasio allowed three runs on four hits over 1.2 innings before exiting the game.

Josh Roenicke came in for the final out of the inning, inducing a Bobby Abreu groundout to end the inning. The Rockies scored their one run on a Dexter Fowler leadoff triple and a Michael Cuddyer RBI double.
