Rockies Vs. Phillies Final Score: Rockies Lose Third Straight, Fall 7-2 To Philadelphia

Cole Hamels improved to 10-2 on the season as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Colorado Rockies 7-2 on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. The loss is the third in a row for Colorado and drops the team's overall record to 25-41. The Phillies improve to 32-37 with the win.

The Rockies took a 1-0 lead before Philadelphia had a turn to bat when Tyler Colvin singled to right to score Eric Young Jr. The Phillies would start scoring in the third, and never looked back.

An RBI double by Placido Polanco plated Jimmy Rollins to tie the game. The Phillies surged ahead for good on a homer by John Mayberry Jr. in the fourth. Philadelphia broke the game open for good in the seventh, a frame highlighted by Carlos Ruiz's ninth homer of the year.

Hamels would allow only six hits and two earned runs while striking out seven through eight innings to secure the win.
