Carlos Gonzalez Injury: Rockies OF Scratched With Hamstring Soreness

Stay connected for news and updates

Colorado Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez has been scratched from the team's lineup for Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers with a sore right hamstring, as Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. He's continued to play well lately despite the nagging injury, but they've decided to let him take the day off on Sunday.

In place of Gonzalez, the Rockies have slid Eric Young Jr. over to left field and put Dexter Fowler into the lineup as his usual spot in center field. Fowler is taking Gonzalez's spot as the No. 3 hitter in the batting order while Young Jr. is hitting leadoff for Colorado.

Gonzalez, 26, is in the middle of another huge season for the Rockies. Over 60 games, Gonzales has batted .335/.394/.629 with 15 doubles, 17 homers and nine stolen bases in 269 plate appearance.
