Rockies Vs. Tigers Score Update: Colorado Falls 4-1

Stay connected for news and updates

After opening their series in Detroit with an impressive victory, the Colorado Rockies couldn't find much luck at the plate against Doug Fister and the Tigers, as they fell 4-1.

Fister was nearly untouchable in six innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six batters. Christian Friedrich was pretty good for the Rockies, pitching five innings and allowing two earned runs. However, he struggled badly with his control, walking five batters in five innings.

Miguel Cabrera recorded two hits and drove in a run in the win. Prince Fielder also drove in a run, which gives him 43 RBI's this season. Carlos Gonzalez was the only Colorado batter to record multiple hits, as he went 3/4 at the plate. Michael Cuddyer dove in the lone run of the game, which came in the 9th inning off of Joaquin Benoit.
