Coors Field has been quite friendly to hitters this season and Guthrie has had trouble pitching there all year; in five starts at home, he has a 9.53 ERA and has given up nine home runs. On the road, his ERA is a more respectable 4.70.

Rockies Trade Rumors 2012: Colorado Talking To Toronto About Deal For Jeremy Guthrie, According To Report

The Colorado Rockies are actively shopping starter Jeremy Guthrie, and according to a report from Ken Rosenthal, they have had discussions with Toronto about an exchange.

While no deal appears imminent, the teams have discussed an exchange that would send Guthrie to the Jays, according to major-league sources.

The Jays likely would assume a significant portion of Guthrie’s remaining salary – just under $5 million – in exchange for a lesser prospect, possibly Double A first baseman Mike McDade, sources said.

Much like his team, Guthrie has really struggled in 2012; he has a 6.91 ERA in 56 innings of work, with 28 strikeouts and 21 walks. Those numbers may make it hard for the Rockies to get a decent return for Guthrie.

Guthrie, a nine-year MLB veteran, is in his first season with the Rockies. Prior to coming to Colorado, he spent three seasons with Cleveland and five seasons with Baltimore.

Rockies Vs. Tigers Final Score: Colorado Falls 5-0 In Series Finale

For the second straight day, the Colorado Rockies struggled at the plate against the Detroit Tigers. After falling 4-1 yesterday, the Rockies managed only seven hits and fell 5-0.

The Rockies had no answer for Max Scherzer, who simply dominated during his eight shutout innings. Scherzer struck out 12 batters and didn't issue a walk, as he improved his record to 6-4 this season. Unfortunately, Jeremy Guthrie wasn't able to deliver a similar performance for the Rockies. Guthrie allowed eight hits and three earned runs in just three innings. With the way Scherzer was pitching, the early deficit was something Colorado couldn't overcome.

Quintin Berry was impressive at the plate for the Tigers, recording hits in all five of his at bats. Ramon Santiago drove in two runs, while Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder each drove in a run as well. Marco Scutaro and Tyler Colvin each had two hits in the loss.

Carlos Gonzalez Injury: Rockies OF Scratched With Hamstring Soreness

Colorado Rockies left fielder Carlos Gonzalez has been scratched from the team's lineup for Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers with a sore right hamstring, as Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. He's continued to play well lately despite the nagging injury, but they've decided to let him take the day off on Sunday.

In place of Gonzalez, the Rockies have slid Eric Young Jr. over to left field and put Dexter Fowler into the lineup as his usual spot in center field. Fowler is taking Gonzalez's spot as the No. 3 hitter in the batting order while Young Jr. is hitting leadoff for Colorado.

Gonzalez, 26, is in the middle of another huge season for the Rockies. Over 60 games, Gonzales has batted .335/.394/.629 with 15 doubles, 17 homers and nine stolen bases in 269 plate appearance.

Rockies Vs. Tigers: Colorado Looks To Pick Things Up After Saturday Loss

The Colorado Rockies play the Detroit Tigers on Sunday in the rubber game of their weekend interleague series. After an exciting 12-4 extra-innings victory on Friday night, the Rockies fell to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, 4-1. That game was highlighted by Miguel Cabrera's "little league home run," which you can see video of here.

The Rockies are hoping Jeremy Guthrie (3-5, 6.91 ERA) can put together some semblance of a decent start. He's allowed at least five runs in each of his last five runs, seven runs in each of his last two. Another bad start and Guthrie will inch himself closer to being out of the rotation.

Detroit puts Max Scherzer (5-4, 5.76 ERA) on the mound with a so-so June performance thus far this month. He's allowed 11 runs in 10.1 innings.

Here are the starting lineups for the day:

Game time/date: 11:05 a.m. MT, Sunday, June 17

Rockies Vs. Tigers Score Update: Colorado Falls 4-1

After opening their series in Detroit with an impressive victory, the Colorado Rockies couldn't find much luck at the plate against Doug Fister and the Tigers, as they fell 4-1.

Fister was nearly untouchable in six innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six batters. Christian Friedrich was pretty good for the Rockies, pitching five innings and allowing two earned runs. However, he struggled badly with his control, walking five batters in five innings.

Miguel Cabrera recorded two hits and drove in a run in the win. Prince Fielder also drove in a run, which gives him 43 RBI's this season. Carlos Gonzalez was the only Colorado batter to record multiple hits, as he went 3/4 at the plate. Michael Cuddyer dove in the lone run of the game, which came in the 9th inning off of Joaquin Benoit.

Rockies Vs. Tigers: Colorado Seeks Back-To-Back Wins Over Detroit

The Colorado Rockies defeated the Detroit Tigers, 12-4, in 10 innings on Friday night and will now look to make it two wins in a row when the teams return to the field at Comerica Park on Saturday afternoon.

Christian Friedrich (4-2, 5.85 ERA) will look to rebound from his poor start against the Los Angeles Angels last Sunday. The Angles pounded him for nine runs on 10 hits in four inning pitched. Before that, Friedrich had won three straight games and needed his offense to bail him out only once.

Doug Fister (0-3, 3.15 ERA) is making his first start since May 28 when he injured his left side. He was tagged for six runs in five innings in that game. He also missed all of April save one start on the seventh, but he pitched just 3.2 innings before had was injured.

Here are the lineups for the game:

Game time/date: 2:05 p.m. MT, Saturday, June 16

Location: Comerica Park, Detroit, MI

Rockies Vs. Tigers Final Score: Colorado Takes Game 1, 12-4

The Colorado Rockies offense exploded for eight runs in the top of the 10th inning on Friday night as they defeated the Detroit Tigers 12-4. Neither team had scored since the bottom of the sixth before Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario plated Eric Young Jr. and Todd Helton with a single to left, but that was just the opening of the spigot.

After a Chris Nelson walk, Dexter Fowler hit with a sacrifice fly to left to make it 7-4. Marco Scutaro followed that up with a single to right that scored Rosario, but it was Carlos Gonzalez who delivered the big blast a batter later when he crushed a homer to right-center field. Michael Cuddyer capped the inning off with a back-to-back homer to bring the score to 12-4.

After Jeff Francis departed the game after 5.1 innings, four Rockies relievers were able to hold the Tigers scoreless, with Matt Belisle earning the win after throwing two shutout innings.

Troy Tulowitzki Injury: Rockies SS Will Be Re-Evaluated On Monday

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will travel to Philadelphia on Monday to have his groin injury re-evaluated by Dr. William Meyers. It's possible that Tulowitzki has a sports hernia.

Dr. William Meyers, a surgeon with extensive experience in sports hernia injuries, will look at Tulowitzki’s two previous MRI reports plus conduct his own evaluation. Meyers performed a sports hernia surgery on Rangers star Josh Hamiltion in November 2011. Meyers also has operated on football players Donovan McNabb and Jeremy Shockey, and hockey player Tomas Holmstrom.
