Athletics Vs. Rockies Final Score: Oakland Scores 8-5 Victory At Coors Field

The Colorado Rockies lost their sixth straight game on Tuesday night by falling 8-5 in the series opener against the Oakland Athletics at Coors Field. The A's improve to 27-35 with the win, while Colorado falls to 24-36.

The Rockies got off to a quick start, but Jeremy Guthrie couldn't hold the lead. The Rockies scored four in the bottom of the first inning, a frame highlighted by a leadoff homer from center fielder Tyler Colvin. Michael Cuddyer, Chris Nelson and Wil Nieves each added an RBI single in the first for Colorado.

Oakland would surge ahead in the third by putting up six runs. Brandon Moss would hit his first of two homers on the night. Moss ended the game 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Guthrie surrendered eight hits and seven earned runs over five innings to fall to 3-5 on the year.
