The A's got to work early against Rockies starter Alex White, scoring two runs in the second and two in the third. White gave up seven hits and lasted just four innings.

With Parker in control, Oakland cruised the rest of the way and took an 8-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning.

Chris Nelson was the only Colorado player to record more than one hit on the day.

Troy Tulowitzki Injury Update: Rockies SS To Have MRI On Left Groin

The Colorado Rockies shortstop is having an MRI on his left groin, the injury that put him on the disabled list, according to the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders. Tulowitzki left Wednesday's rehab game with the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox but had to leave the game after running the bases.

Tulowitzki has missed the entire month of June so far, just as his bat was getting hot with a nine-game hitting streak, but the Rockies are currently on a seven-game losing streak.

Marco Scutaro has filled in at shortstop and will continue to do so until Tulowitzki comes off the disabled list.

Athletics Vs. Rockies Lineups: Carlos Gonzalez In Lineup, Hitting In No. 3 Hole

The Colorado Rockies will try to avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon (1 p.m. MT, MLB.com), and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez can try to keep up his recent hot-hitting. Over the last seven games, Gonzalez is 7-for-19 with two home runs, which is good for a .368 batting average. On Tuesday he reached base just once in five plate appearances, and he sat out of the lineup on Wednesday.

Here is a look at the lineups for Thursday's matinee between the Athletics and Rockies:

Athletics Vs. Rockies: Jarrod Parker, Alex White Duel In Finale

The Colorado Rockies are in a dark place once again, currently on a seven-game losing streak entering Thursday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics. Wednesday's game saw the Rockies cough up a ninth-inning lead and lose by two runs, 10-8.

Alex White (2-4, 5.66 ERA) will look to avoid putting the Rockies on an eight-game losing streak when the teams take the field this afternoon. He is 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA in two starts so far in June. He lost his previous start, which was a six-inning performance against the Los Angeles Angels. He allowed two two-run home runs to Torii Hunter in that game.

Jarrod Parker (2-3, 3.19 ERA) is a familiar name to the Rockies, likely, since he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks' organization until a December trade sent him to the West Coast. He's done well as a rookie in nine starts so far, but his last time out was one of his worst: He allowed six runs on eight hits and five walks in five innings. And it came against the Diamondbacks in an 8-3 loss.

Athletics Vs. Rockies Final Score: 9th Inning Comeback Gives Oakland 10-8 Win

The Colorado Rockies took a one-run lead into the top of the ninth inning against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night, but a three-run final frame by the A's was enough to secure a 10-8 victory for Oakland. The A's improve to 28-35 with the win. The loss is the sixth straight for Colorado, and drops the team to 24-37.

After Oakland right fielder Collin Cowgill tied the game with a sac fly, third baseman Brandon Inge won it with a go-ahead two RBI double.

Second baseman Marco Scutaro went 4-for-5 with two runs in the loss. Right fielder Michael Cuddyer finished 3-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and three runs .

Seth Smith and Jonny Gomes also each homered in the win for Oakland.

Athletics Vs. Rockies Lineups: Carlos Gonzalez Gets Day Off On Wednesday

While the Colorado Rockies don't have Carlos Gonzalez in the lineup on Wednesday night as they host the Oakland Athletics, there's no health issue behind the move. Instead, the Rockies' left fielder is merely getting a standard day of rest to keep him fresh during the long MLB season.

Tyler Colvin is getting the start in place of Gonzalez, playing left field in addition to taking his place as the No. 3 hitter in the batting order. After a positively awful 2011 with the Cubs, Colvin has been a pleasant surprise for Colorado this year, hitting .304/.336/.589 over 121 plate appearances.

Here's the full lineup for Colorado:

1. Dexter Fowler (CF)
2. Marco Scutaro (SS)
3. Tyler Colvin (LF)
4. Michael Cuddyer (RF)
5. Todd Helton (1B)
6. Jordan Pacheco (3B)
7. Wilin Rosario (C)
8. Chris Nelson (2B)
9. Josh Outman (SP)

And Oakland's lineup:

1. Jemile Weeks (2B)
2. Collin Cowgill (CF)
3. Seth Smith (RF)
4. Yoenis Cespedes (LF)
5. Brandon Inge (3B)
6. Josh Donaldson (C)
7. Brandon Moss (1B)
8. Cliff Pennington (SS)
9. Tom Milone (SP)

Troy Tulowitzki Injury: Rockies SS Leaves Rehab Game, To Be Evaluated In Denver

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki returned to Denver for evaluation after pulling himself from a rehab game with Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday, as Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Tulowitzki was 2-for-2 with a homer during the game, but he pulled himself out of the game after running the bases.

Tulowitzki has been on the disabled list since May 31 with a strained left groin, but there was optimism that he'd be able to return soon after beginning his minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that didn't even last a game before the shortstop appeared to have a setback, making it unclear when he'll be able to return to the Rockies.

He would have been eligible to return on Friday, but now the Rockies may have to go with Marco Scutaro at shortstop for the near future.

Rockies Vs Athletics: Josh Outman Faces His Former Team

In the series opener on Tuesday evening, Colorado Rockies starter Jeremy Guthrie surrendered seven runs in just five innings to the Oakland Athletics. It continues the season-long trend of Rockies starters failing to pitch late in games and has forced the bullpen to pick up a very heavy workload.

The trend is likely to continue on Wednesday night, as the Rockies send lefthander Josh Outman (0-2, 8.18) to the mound. Acquired from the Athletics this offseason, Outman was initially slotted for the bullpen. But with injuries testing the Rockies' pitching depth, he has been making the transition back into a starting pitcher. This will be Outman's third start of the season, and he will likely be limited to around 100 pitches.

The Athletics will counter with a lefty of their own, Tom Milone (6-5, 3.77). Milone has had a solid season for Oakland, though he allowed five earned runs in his last start against Tampa Bay. This will be his first start against Colorado, and his first career appearance in Coors Field.

Rockies Transactions 2012: Colorado Signs C Omir Santos

The Colorado Rockies boosted their catching depth on Wednesday by signing veteran backstop Omir Santos. Santos spent the first part of the 2012 season in the minor leagues before being called up by the Detroit Tigers at the beginning of June. But when the Tigers designated him for assignment this week, he instead elected to become a free agent.

Santos had one hit in eight at-bats this season for Detroit, and is a .249/.281/.364 career hitter in the majors across four seasons. His career began in 2008 with the Baltimore Orioles, but only lasted 11 games. In 2009, he took 281 at-bats for the New York Mets, which accounts for all but 40 of his career at-bats, hitting .260/.296/.391.

The Rockies have not yet announced where Santos will be assigned.

The Rockies got off to a quick start, but Jeremy Guthrie couldn't hold the lead. The Rockies scored four in the bottom of the first inning, a frame highlighted by a leadoff homer from center fielder Tyler Colvin. Michael Cuddyer, Chris Nelson and Wil Nieves each added an RBI single in the first for Colorado.

Oakland would surge ahead in the third by putting up six runs. Brandon Moss would hit his first of two homers on the night. Moss ended the game 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Guthrie surrendered eight hits and seven earned runs over five innings to fall to 3-5 on the year.

Troy Tulowitzki Injury: Rockies SS To Begin Rehab Stint On Wednesday

Injured Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki -- who is eligible to come off the disabled list on Friday -- is going to begin a rehab stint with the team's triple-A affiliate on Wednesday.

He'll probably play two or three games with the Sky Sox and could re-join the Rockies this weekend, according to Troy Renck.

Tulowitzki has not played in a game for the Rockies since May 30, though that hasn't hurt his standing in the 2012 /MLB All-Star Game vote. He's hitting .287/.360/.486 with eight home runs and 27 RBI this season.

Colorado Rockies Trade RHP Esmil Rogers To Cleveland Indians For Cash Considerations

The Colorado Rockies designated struggling relief pitcher Esmil Rogers for assignment over the weekend, and on Tuesday they traded him to the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations.

Rogers appeared in 23 games for the Rockies this season, posting a 8.06 ERA in 25-2/3 innings of work. He struck out 29 and walked 18.

He had similar struggles during the 2011 season, though he was primarily a starter during that season.

For his career, Rogers has a 6.77 ERA in 184-2/3 innings. He appeared in 70 games and made 22 starts for Colorado.

Athletics Vs. Rockies Lineups: Tyler Colvin Leading Off Again For Colorado

The Colorado Rockies begin a three-game set with the Oakland A's on Tuesday hoping to end what has been a rough five-game stretch. In that time, they've allowed a total of 44 runs.

Fortunately for a struggling Colorado pitching staff, Oakland has one of the worst offenses in baseball -- they rank 14th in the AL in runs, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.

Here are the lineups for Tuesday's game:
