Rockies Vs. Angels Score Update: Bad Pitching Leads To 6-6 Tie After 2nd Inning

Stay connected for news and updates

The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Angels are currently knotted up in a 6-6 tie through two innings on Sunday afternoon in a game that feels like it's straight out of Coors Field, circa 1997. The Angels busted out to a sizable lead in the first frame, but the game has quickly become a slugfest as both starting pitchers have struggled badly.

After one inning, the Angels led 4-1 as Christian Friedrich battled to find a comfort zone. He never found it, as he's allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks while managing to retire just six hitters. LA's Ervin Santana hasn't fared much better, though, giving up six runs on six hits over his first two frames.

Carlos Gonzalez leads the way for Colorado with a double and a homer in his first two plate appearances. The Rockies also got a three-run shot from Tyler Colvin as part of their five-run second inning. Torii Hunter and Mark Trumbo have each hit home runs for the Angels.
