Dodgers Vs. Rockies Final Score: Colorado Scores 3-2 Victory To Earn Series Win

The Colorado Rockies held the Matt Kemp-less Los Angeles Dodgers to just three hits during a 3-2 victory on Sunday at Coors Field. The Rockies only managed six hits themselves, but the Colorado pitching was good enough to carry the team to a victory in the series rubber match.

Starter Alex White allowed two hits, five walks and two earned runs over 6.2 innings for the Rockies to earn the win and improve his record to 2-3. Rafael Betancourt would nail down his 10th save of the year to seal the victory.

The Rockies scored in the first when Marco Scutaro drove-in Dexter Folwer with a ground out to third. Colorado would add its other two runs in the sixth. First baseman Todd Helton singled to right to drive-in Scutaro, which was followed by an RBI double from third baseman Jordan Pacheco.

Jorge De La Rosa Injury: Rockies Call Off Rehab Assignment After Setback

The Colorado Rockies have ended Jorge De La Rosa's minor league rehab assignment for the time being after fluid built up in the elbow that the pitcher had surgery on last year, as Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. De La Rosa is still working to return from Tommy John surgery after tearing the UCL in his throwing elbow last May.

On Friday, De La Rosa had to leave his first rehab start with Triple-A Colorado Springs after feeling forearm tightness. After signing a three-year contract with the Rockies before last season, De La Rosa lasted just ten starts before blowing out his elbow. Now it appears that he may miss the vast majority of the 2012 season, too, barring further developments.

Dodgers Vs. Rockies Lineups: D.J. LeMahieu Gets Start At Second Base Again

The Colorado Rockies are giving D.J. LeMahieu the nod at second base when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon. The primary starter at second base, Marco Scutaro, is sliding over to shortstop to cover for Troy Tulowitzki, who was recently placed on the disabled list with a strained left groin.

LeMahieu, 23, has appeared in eight games with Colorado so far, hitting .294/.333/.353 over 18 plate appearances. Acquired from the Chicago Cubs during the offseason in the trade that sent Ian Stewart to the North Siders, he's spent most of the year with Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he's hit .315/.364/.398 with 11 steals over 43 games in the hitter-friendly environment.

Here's Colorado's full lineup:

Rockies Roster Moves 2012: Guillermo Moscoso In Uniform For Colorado

The Colorado Rockies have made a roster move on Sunday afternoon to account for Juan Nicasio's strained left knee. Guillermo Moscoso is back in the majors with the Rockies on Sunday to take Nicasio's place.

Nicasio exited Saturday's game against the Dodgers after Nicasio turned awkwardly as a ball hit by Elian Herrera went up the middle to center field for two runs.

Moscoso was with the Rockies for two starts back in late April and early May when Jeremy Guthrie was on the disabled list. He went 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA, allowing six runs in each of his two starts. Will this time be any better?

Dodgers Vs. Rockies: Alex White Can Put Colorado Back On Track

The Colorado Rockies saw a five-game losing streak come to an end in a 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday afternoon. With the series split at one game apiece, the Rockies go for the series victory in the rubber match on Sunday afternoon.

Alex White (1-3, 6.28 ERA) didn't fare well in his last start, allowing six runs to the Houston Astros. However, the Rockies scored seven runs for a 7-6 victory. Four of those six runs scored on three home runs. A solid outing would go a long way to settling down a rough start to his season.

The Dodgers counter with Nate Eovaldi (0-1, 2.57 ERA), who is making just his second start of the season. Eovaldi came up from the minors last week to replace the injured Ted Lilly in the rotation. Though he picked up the loss, Eovaldi allowed just two runs in seven innings in the 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers

Dodgers Vs. Rockies Final Score: L.A. Halts Losing Streaking, Ends Colorado's Winning Streak With 6-2 Victory

The Colorado Rockies were unable to extend their winning streak to six games on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-2. The Rockies also lost starting pitcher Juan Nicasio (2-3, 5.28 ERA) to a strained left knee in the second inning.

The Dodgers and the Rockies exchanged runs in the first inning to tie the game at one after the first six outs. Andre Ethier singled in his first run of the game, an unearned run as a result of DJ LeMahieu's error to start the game. Michael Cuddyer doubled in Dexter Fowler, who led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple.

In the second inning, Nicasio allowed a two-run single up the middle to Elian Herrera, but that's when he moved awkwardly and strained his left knee. Josh Roenicke relieved him and ended the inning promptly, but in the fourth inning he loaded the bases and walked Ethier, scoring another run for the Dodgers.

In the sixth inning, Matt Reynolds allowed a Bobby Abreu home run (1) and an Adam Kennedy RBI single.

Aaron Harang (4-3, 3.90 ERA) kept the Rockies out of this game for the most part. Outside of the Cuddyer RBI double and the Fowler triple that led to the run scoring, Harang limited the Rockies to just four hits over six innings, striking out six in the process. Javy Guerra allowed an RBI double to Wilin Rosario in the seventh inning.

The Rockies (22-30, 14-15 home) will have Alex White on the mound for Sunday's rubber game.

Juan Nicasio Injury: Rockies Pitcher Leaves Game With Left Leg Injury

The Colorado Rockies saw starting pitcher Juan Nicasio leave in the second inning with two outs recorded. On Elian Herrera's two-run single to center field, Nicasio wound up twisting his ankle knee, it turned out. Jim Tracy and the trainers came out to visit him and removed the pitcher from the game. Nicasio was clearly limping to the dugout and then labored to walk down the stairs to the locker room.

Nicasio allowed three runs on four hits over 1.2 innings before exiting the game.

Josh Roenicke came in for the final out of the inning, inducing a Bobby Abreu groundout to end the inning. The Rockies scored their one run on a Dexter Fowler leadoff triple and a Michael Cuddyer RBI double.

Rockies Roster Moves 2012: Rex Brothers Recalled; Carlos Torres Sent To Triple-A

The Colorado Rockies made a roster move on Saturday ahead of the afternoon game against the Los Angeles Dodgers: left-handed reliever Rex Brothers was recalled from the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox while reliever Carlos Torres was sent down to complete the transaction:

Brothers started the season with the Rockies, but he was sent down on May 20 after going 2-2 with a 5.87 ERA in 22 appearances. He struck out 21 batters and walked 12. However, he also allowed 23 hits in 15.1 innings, making him quite hittable.

Carlos Torres has had a few stints with the Rockies this season, pitching out of the bullpen. He spent the last week with the club, first for the doubleheader and then to play tag-team with Josh Outman on the mound in Friday's game. He allowed two runs in the Rockies; 13-3 victory.

Dodgers Vs. Rockies: Juan Nicasio Looks To Send Colorado On 6-Game Winning Streak

The Colorado Rockies enter Saturday with a five-game winning streak in hand, mostly thanks to an offense that has scored at least seven runs in each game. This has been the longest winning streak for the team this season and a win on Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers can make up for the six-game losing streak the team has in May.

Juan Nicasio (2-2, 5.11 ERA) is looking for his first victory since April 30, when he happened to beat the Dodgers at Coors Field. He allowed just two runs in six innings for the 6-2 victory, but May was not as kind. In three of his five May starts, Nicasio gave up six runs each time. However, the last time he did that was on Monday against the Houston Astros. That was the start of this current winning streak, as the offense came through for the 9-7 victory.

Opposing Nicasio will be Aaron Harang (3-3, 4.14 ERA). Harang was on the mound against Nicasio during that April 30 contest, allowing five runs in 5.2 innings. Since then, Harang went 2-1 with a 2.67 ERA in 30 innings pitched. One of those starts was an eight-inning, one-run performance against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium. HE followed that up with seven shutout innings against the Padres.

Dodgers Vs. Rockies Final Score: Colorado Crushes Los Angeles, 13-3

The Colorado Rockies' offensive onslaught continued into Friday night with a 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies scored 10 of the 13 runs in the fifth inning or later.

The scoring started in the second inning when Wilin Rosario attempted to steal second base while Michael Cuddyer was on third base. A throwing error by catcher Matt Treanor allowed both of them to score.

The Dodgers didn't score their first run until after Josh Outman, limited to around 50 pitches before the game started, left following 55 pitches in 3.1 innings. Outman allowed just two hits, walked one and struck out five. His last strikeout was against Andre Ethier, allowing him to exit the game on a high note. Later in the fourth inning, Carlos Torres allowed a Scott Van Slyke double and followed that up with an Alex Castellanos RBI triple, putting the Dodgers on the board.

Jordan Pacheco and Carlos Gonzalez drove in runs over the next two innings for a 4-1 lead, but Castellanos answered with a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth to make it a 4-2 game. The bottom of the sixth inning saw the Rockies' bats start to waken up.

Wilin Rosario hit his eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot, for a 6-2 lead. Dexter Fowler picked up the first of two RBI on a single in the sixth before Marco Scutaro drove him in during the next at-bat. In the seventh inning, Rosario, DJ LeMahieu and Fowler drove in three more runs.

The Rockies concluded the scoring in the eighth inning with back-to-back home runs by Chris Nelson (1) and Michael Cuddyer (7).

Adam Ottavino (1-0, 0.75 ERA) took the victory while Dodgers starter Chris Capuano (7-2) went down in defeat by allowing the first seven runs. Jamey Wright gave up four more runs and Josh Lindblom surrendered the other two runs.

The Rockies (22-29, 14-14 home) are on a five-game winning streak and have Juan Nicasio on the mound for Saturday's game.

Dodgers Vs. Rockies Lineups: Marco Scutaro Gets Another Start At SS

Troy Tulowitzki hit the disabled list on Thursday, but with the way Carlos Gonzalez is killing the ball, the Rockies' offense may be just fine in Tulowitzki's absence. Gonzalez has hit six home runs since last Sunday and homered in four consecutive plate appearances between Wednesday and Thursday.

The lineups for Friday night's matchup with the Dodgers are below.

Dodgers Vs. Rockies: Josh Outman On Strict Pitch Count For Friday

The Colorado Rockies are looking for a solid pitching performance from Josh Outman when he makes his first start of the year on Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He won't have long to make an impression, however. Outman has been used in relief so far this year, and according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post Outman will be limited to 50 pitches and then long reliever Carlos Torres will likely take over.

Even with the strict pitch count, Outman sees this as an opportunity to join the rotation long-term, saying "[t]he way this was presented to me is that it wasn't a spot start. That I would have more opportunities."
