Ramon Hernandez Injury: Rockies Catcher Placed On DL With Sprained Left Hand

Colorado Rockies catcher Ramon Hernandez will be out of action for a little while -- the team placed him on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hand. Wil Nieves will replace Hernandez on the active roster.

The 36-year-old Hernandez is hitting .215/.260/.398 in 27 games this season.

Nieves is hitting .299/.330/.448 for the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox and has not appeared in an MLB game this season. He spent the 2011 season in the Milwaukee and Atlanta organizations.
