The Colorado Rockies will have one of their younger alumnus representing them in the 2012 MLB Draft. According to Troy Renck of the Denver Post, former Rockies third baseman Garrett Atkins will join scout Mike Garlatti during the team's selections for the 2012 MLB Draft:

Atkins played seven seasons with the Rockies, hitting 98 homers with the franchise. Only 32 years old, Atkins has not played in the MLB since 2010.
The Rockies pick will at No. 10 in the first round of the MLB draft, good for their highest draft position since 2007, when they picked RHP Casey Weathers with the No. 8 overall pick.
