Jhoulys Chacin Injury: Rockies Pitcher Has Yet To Throw Ball

Stay connected for news and updates

Colorado Rockies Jhoulys Chacin has yet to throw a pitch since he was placed on the disabled list last week, reports the Denver Post's Troy Renck. He hasn't even played catch yet, which he was supposed to do last week. Possibly far more concerning to come out of that article, however, is that Chacin's didn't follow his teammates' advice and speak up about the biceps tendinitis he had during spring training.

Instead, Chacin tried to pitch his way through the injury, causing everyone to suffer. He didn't want to go on the disabled list, but he was pitching at a level that would have sent him to the minor leagues -- that is, until the injury finally came to light.

Chacin was doing more harm than good by keeping the injury quite. If, as he believes, wound up hurting his rotator cuff and had to have surgery ... well, that's extremely poor judgment.
