Rockies Roster Moves 2012: Colorado To Evaluate Eric Young Jr. In Denver

The Colorado Rockies will evaluate Eric Young Jr. in Denver on Wednesday and will then decide whether to activate the outfielder, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post.

Young Jr. has been away from the team since May 7, when he left to be with his ailing grandfather. He has spent the last few days in Arizona getting back into game shape, and if he's ready to play, he may be added to Colorado's major league roster.

Young Jr. was replaced on the roster last week by Jordan Pacheco, but it's unclear who would be sent down if the Rockeis do decide to activate him. In 18 at-bats since being recalled, Pacheco has two doubles and a single. In 21 at-bats with the Rockies this season, Young Jr. is hitting .286/.400/.429.
