If the Colorado Rockies are going to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers, they will be forced to do so without Dexter Fowler. According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, Fowler was removed from the game because of some side effects from being hit in the head by a throw from A.J. Ellis:
@harding_at_mlb: Awaiting report on #Rockies OF Dexter Fowler, hit in face/head by throw from #Dodger C A.J. Ellis in 4th. Colvin to CF, Jordan Pacheco at 1B
@harding_at_mlb: #Rockies Dexter Fowler was removed from game with the #Dodgers with blurred vision
The Rockies CF has struggled at the plate this season, batting just .221 with 14 RBI's. Fowler has hit four home runs this season and has great speed to make an impact on the bases.
