Jorge De La Rosa Injury: Rockies Pitcher Leaves Rehab Start Early With Forearm Tightness

On Saturday, Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rosa was forced to leave a rehab start early after experiencing tightness in his forearm. He pitched just one inning for double-A Tulsa.

De La Rosa, who is a year removed from elbow ligament surgery, threw 28 pitches, 24 strikes, while allowing four runs for Tulsa. The left-hander told The Post earlier this week that he experiences tightness the day after he pitches, and it eventually goes away. It’s common after the surgery, however he’s never felt the tightness while he pitched. De La Rosa has likely learned from last season. He privately pitched through pain for a few weeks a year ago before then his elbow ligament eventually tore.

The setback probably pushes De La Rosa's return to the Rockies back by at least a week, according to Troy Renck.
