The Colorado Rockies (16-13) take on the Seattle Mariners (14-8) Monday afternoon in what may be one of the most unusual matchups of the Spring Training season. The Mariners send 25-year-old (or at least 25 for another six days) Felix Hernandez to the mound, and opposing him will be 49-year-old Rockies pitcher Jamie Moyer.
Moyer won a rotation spot late last month, giving the veteran, veteran lefty a chance to become the second-oldest pitcher to the MLB's history. Compared to Hernandez, Moyer's career started slowly as he pitched only 290.1 innings before the age of 26. Hernandez, meanwhile, has pitched 1396.1 innings, making his major league debut at age 19.
