Diamondbacks Vs. Rockies Final Score: Ben Paulsen Plays Hero In 6-5 Victory With Walkoff Home Run

The Colorado Rockies picked up their first win of Spring Training with a walkoff home run by Ben Paulsen during the first at-bat of the bottom of the ninth. The final score was 6-5 over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Paulsen's shot was a line drive to right field, a no-doubter.

It was a sloppy game for both teams, though the Diamondbacks committed four of the six errors. Jhoulys Chacin, however, was burned by Chad Tracy's throwing error in the bottom of the first inning since it allowed two unearned runs to score. Chacin labored in his first start of the spring, allowing three total runs in two innings. Gerardo Parra hit a home run off him in the second inning and had a sharp double to start the game. Chacin was able to get out of a bases-loaded situation that he got himself into after a walk to crowd the diamond.

Uber-prospect Nolan Arenado and Jonathan Herrera each hit back-to-back RBI doubles to tie the game at three after the second inning. Chad Tracy made up for his throwing gaffe by driving a run in on a sacrifice fly. However, the lead didn't last for too long since Ryan Roberts and Chris Owings hit home runs off Joe Gardner and Carlos Torres to take a 5-4 lead by the end of the top of the eighth inning.

Brendan Harris tied the game at five when he picked up a single and then saw Chris Owings both the throw to first base. That allowed Chris Nelson to score from second base, having reached on a single and then moving over to second on a Wilin Rosario single.

Christian Friedrich made his spring debut and looked like, well, a pitcher. He struck out two and allowed zero runs over two innings after replacing Chacin.

The Rockies visit the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday at 1:05 p.m. MT.
