Omar Quintanilla Signs With New York Mets

Former Colorado Rockies infielder Omar Quintanilla has signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets, reports Adam Rubin of ESPN New York. Quintanilla has spent the majority of his career with the Colorado Rockies, playing in the organization from 2005-2010.

He first saw action with the Rockies in 2005 and peaked in 2008 with 81 games at the big league level. He hit .220/.277/.290 as a backup infielder over five seasons. He moved over to the Texas Rangers in 2011 and appeared in 11 major league games.
