Drew Pomeranz Arrest: Charges Dismissed Against Colorado Rockies Pitcher

Disturbing the peace charges against Colorado Rockies pitcher Drew Pomeranz -- stemming from an incident back in Oct. 2011 -- were dismissed on Friday. Pomeranz was arrested after leaving a bar in Oxford, MS, with friends on Oct. 14, 2011.

Today's legal decision removes an unwanted distraction for the 23-year-old who's being counted on to make the Rockies' rotation. Pomeranz went 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA last season in four September starts.

"Focused on baseball and looking forward to spring training," Pomeranz tweeted.

Pomeranz, who came to Colorado from Cleveland in the Ubaldo Jimenez deal, made for starts and pitched 18.3 innings for the Rockies in 2011.

Pomeranz rose quickly through the minors after being drafted in 2010, and he was rated the No. 61 prospect by Baseball America prior to the 2011 season.
