Braves Vs. Rockies: Jhoulys Chacin Pitches For Possible Colorado Series Victory

First it was a blowout win for the Colorado Rockies and then it was a walk-off win for them over the Braves. On Thursday, the Rockies can take the four-game series victory with an afternoon game.

The Braves will have Tommy Hanson (10-5, 2.73 ERA) on the mound, who kept the Rockies down on July 1. Hanson pitched seven solid innings in that game and allowed just one run. He struck out six. He repeated that line five days later when he pitched on the road against the Phillies; the only difference was that he failed to pick up the win. But Hanson was knocked around in his start to the second half, allowing five runs in 5.1 innings. In one career game at Coors Field, Hanson allowed four runs in five innings.

Jhoulys Chacin did end his streak of three consecutive losses when he pitched against the Brewers to start his second half, but the results could have been better. He allowed five runs over 6.1 innings in an 8-7 loss. Two starts before that Chacin pitched in Atlanta and had similar results. Hurt by six walks, Chacin allowed four runs in five innings.

First pitch is schedule for 1:10 p.m. MT.
