Ian Stewart had two errors in the Colorado Rockies' 4-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon. On one of them he failed to pick up the ball on three separate attempts, which pretty much sums up the last two games for the Rockies.
Aaron Cook (0-5, 5.82 ERA) was not helped by two Stewart errors and one bobble by Dexter Fowler, but he failed to make it through five complete innings. He allowed three runs on a Casey McGehee sac fly in the second inning and a single in the fifth and a George Kottaras double in the fifth as well. Matt Beilisle allowed a Mark Kotsay RBI single in the sixth for a 4-1 lead at the time.
Seth Smith picked up an RBI in the fourth inning when he lined a ball that hit off of Rickie Weeks' glove and wound up scoring Dexter Fowler on a single to shallow center field. The to start the sixth inning, Jason Giambi launched a home run (10) to the upper deck in right field, the second this season and the 32nd in park history
Brewers pitcher Shaun Marcum (8-3, 3.39 ERA) left the game with an injury after that home run, ending his day at five innings pitched and two runs allowed. Ty Wigginton doubled in the third run in the bottom of the ninth off of John Axford.
The Rockies (45-50, 24-24 home) stay at Coors Field for a series with the Atlanta Braves starting Monday.
