White Sox Vs. Rockies: Ubaldo Jimenez Seeks 3rd Straight Victory

The Chicago White Sox are coming off their worst loss of the season, at least according to manager Ozzie Guillen. It took 13 innings for the Colorado Rockies to hand that 3-2 loss to the White Sox--Ty Wigginton blooping a ball to center field where Brent Lillibridge was playing and looked somewhat out of the game when he came in on the ball. But that allowed Troy Tulowitzki to run to home plate from first base.

The Rockies will look to Ubaldo Jimenez (3-7, 4.50 ERA) to keep the White Sox down again (they lost their first game at Coors Field (just four games though)). Jimenez enters the game on a two-game winning streak with victories over the Detroit Tigers and the New York Yankees. His defeat of the Yankees came in the first game of that series last Friday, the team's only win in the Bronx. After allowing two runs over the first three innings of the game, Jimenez shut the Yankees down and finished with two runs allowed in seven innings on four hits and two walks. He struck out seven.

Mark Buehrle (6-5, 3.73 ERA) has pitched much better since the end of April when he had a 5.12 ERA and a 1.462 WHIP. He's gone 5-2 since then and lowered his ERA into the high 3's. In June he's held batters to fewer hits and walks than the first two months of the season. This will be his first career start against the Rockies.

This game begins at 6:40 p.m. MT.
