Giants Vs. Rockies: Ubaldo Jimenez Still Looking For 1st Win

If they want to get out of their recent malaise, the Colorado Rockies will need to take the second game of this two-game series with the San Francisco Giants. On Monday night, Giants starter Tim Lincecum looked all too human when he allowed six walks and seven runs (including two home runs) in 5.2 innings.

Carlos Gonzalez's three-run home run and Troy Tulowitzki's two-run double led the offense, and the Rockies will need both of them to keep it up in Tuesday's game against Jonathan Sanchez. Sanchez had an April 19 start against the Rockies at Coors Field and held them to three runs on two hits in 6.1 innings. In his last two starts, Sanchez has gone 1-1, allowed eight runs in 11 innings, walked eight and struck out 13.

Ubaldo Jimenez will duel Sanchez in a rematch of that April 19 contest. Jimenez was knocked around for four runs in the first inning of that game, his first start of the disabled list. Since then, Jimenez has struggled in most of his starts, especially with controlling walks. In 23.2 innings since his return, Jimenez has struck out 29 batters but walked 21 as well. In his May 12 start, Jimenez lasted just 3.2 innings after he allowed five runs in six walks and three hits. Can he pick up his first win on his seventh try?

First pitch for this game is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. MT.
